Well, to tell you about who we are, I have to go back to 1986. I was 5 years old, when I first entered a gaming arcade in India. The sights, the sounds, the bleeps and buzzes and filled with the smell of sweaty teenage kids and stale second hand smoke, would have turned most people away. But not me, no sir. I was enchanted, drawn to it, like a moth to a flame. I remember spending many months just going in there without a penny to my name to just watch others were playing. For the first time, in a long time, I felt like a kid again – because this was something new, something exciting, something that would change my life forever.
Now that the over-dramatization is over, the bottom line is, that’s when I first had my brush with the whole video gaming world. My Dad bought me my first, PC – a glorious ZX Spectrum (which I fried by sticking the AV socket in the power outlet), then I would get a NES a few years later, and finally by the time I hit the 8th grade, I had my very own PC – (a 386, with no extended memory, a black and white monitor and a 100mb HDD and not to mention a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive). A dream machine for it’s time (or so I believed, until 3 months later our school got a 486DX2 with a sound card, 8mb of RAM and a 500mb HDD with a color monitor!…oh and it a CD ROM Drive!) Oh the countless hours playing Prince of Persia, Aladdin, Doom, Quake – was just glorious.
Cut ahead to 20 years from there, and countless PC upgrades and consoles later, this is where we landed. A simple blog, dedicated to all things Gaming, Tech and Pop Culture. I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, but I’ve spent my time to know more than the average bear. Basically I’m an old school gamer, trying to share my ill gotten wisdom with today’s world for what it’s worth, and have fun doing it. 🙂
So if you’re like me, or can relate to anything I’ve just said…come along for the ride, If not…well, come along anyway, let’s just have some fun while we’re at it. 🙂
