Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is an action-packed adventure-RPG inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Exploring an original story of vengeance and redemption, the game puts players in the role of Talion, a valiant ranger whose family is slain in front of him the night Sauron and his army return to Mordor — moments before his own life is taken. Do you really need more? The graphics and visuals are stunning from what we’ve seen…the only thing that can make or mar this game? The Game-play. If it’s picking up from where Guardian’s of Middle-Earth left off; it’s gonna be awesome!

Watch Dogs

For me, personally, this is THE game to watch out for next year. Watch Dogs brings you a world that’s slowly taken over by technology, only what’s awesome, is that YOU are not the victim, you get to harness that technology; but that technology is corrupt as well – Go play in a realistic and living open world where players must use any means at their disposal to take down a corrupt system. Ubisoft may have a winner here on their hands.

Replacing the magic system from the previous game are the Void Sword and the Chaos Claws. The Void Sword can replenish Dracula’s health when used while the Chaos Claws can be used to break through enemy defenses and deliver powerful attacks. The story mode in Lords of Shadow 2 has been stated to be far longer than the previous one.The game will mainly be an open world allowing the player to choose what route to take. This game will also feature a movable camera, something that was not available in the first Lords of Shadow game. The Order: 1886

This PlayStation 4 exclusive might be one of the reasons why you may want to pick up a PS4. The Order: 1886 is set in an alternate history where an old order of knights keep all of the world safe from half bred monsters, who are a combination of animal and man. In the game’s history, around the seventh or eighth centuries a small number of humans took on bestial traits. The majority of humans feared these half breeds and war broke out. Halo 5

Ok, we don’t really know if this is going to be titled Halo 5; but the upcoming Halo game is confirmed to be only on the Xbox One, and claimed to run at 60 frames per second. Microsoft Studios corporate vice president, Phil Spencer said that the “Reclaimer Trilogy” had been expanded into a longer series of games, saying they “[didn’t] want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy”.Spencer also clarified in an interview with IGN that while the next-gen game was not Halo 5, it was a “legitimate” entry in the game series rather than a spin-off.

Wolfenstein: The New Order

That’s right, another Wolfenstein game will be coming soon – The New Order is the ninth installment in the Wolfenstein series and the first since 1992 developed without the Id Software label; just blows your mind doesn’t it? Anyway, the game takes place during the 1960s in an alternate history world in which the Nazis won World War II.The player assumes the role of series protagonist William “B.J.” Blazkowicz who is tasked with launching an “impossible” counter-offensive against the Nazi powers that have taken over the world. Set in Europe, The New Order will have players infiltrating Nazi strongholds and battling legions of enemies, while taking control of “super weapons” that the Nazis have used to dominate Earth.

Planetside 2 (PS4)

As the title says, Planetside is finally coming to a console. It’s easily one of the biggest free-to-play massively multiplayer online first-person shooter published by Sony Online Entertainment. PlanetSide 2 is a re-imagining of PlanetSide, featuring the same world, factions and taking place at roughly the same time period. As in the previous game, it features territory control in an open-world, large battles featuring up to 2000 players per continent on foot or in land/air vehicles. The territory system differs greatly from that of the original, being more free-form and based on a hexagonal territory control system. SOE has been taking into account balance issues from the first game. As stated by creative director Matthew Higby, they reward combatants on lower population empires through mechanics such as proportionally increased advancement rates and resources to aid the balance of overall empire saturation on each server as much as possible without force-restricting players from being able to play with their friends.

You have no recollection of how you got here, and don’t really know if you’re inside some sort of a nightmare or are losing your sanity, but something is terribly wrong with almost everyone and every thing around you. Dying Light

Free running + Zombies; that’s what the game is all about – it feels a little like Dead Island; but has a lot more to offer.

Dying Light contains a dynamic day and night cycle. During the day, the player has to go out and scavenge for supplies to send back to the safe zones. They can also set up traps, save random survivors, and make their way to airdrops. The infected are slow, allowing the player to simply make their way past them, but their danger grows in numbers. Luckily, the player could stay up on roofs of buildings to stay out of harm’s way.

When the sun goes down in Dying Light, the infected transform into something much more dangerous. They gain the ability to sprint after the player, and have increased damage, as well as the ability to jump and climb buildings like the player. In order for the player to avoid contact, they need to use their Night Sense to locate zombies in the dark to stay out of their way. If spotted and trying to escape their pursuers, the player can use distractions and traps to lower their numbers.

But when the night comes, so does the Night Hunter, which is a rare special type of infected that only comes out at night. If spotted by this infected, escape is almost impossible. In order to escape them, the player will need to use tactics, distractions, and their Night Sense to survive until the morning’s first light.
