Flash in Man of Steel Sequel: GD’s 5

While everyone is jumping around about Warner Bros. decision on choosing Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, what we all seemed to have overlooked is that Variety had also confirmed that the speedster Flash will also be a part of the sequel to Man of Steel:

It’s unclear which members, but Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) and the Flash are said to be locks to make an appearance in some fashion, whether that’s a significant role or a cameo.

This raises a lot of questions, the two that GameDruid is concerned with right now:

Is it actually a Justice League movie?

We are wondering if the studio worried about all the Marvel movies in production, that they have fastracked this movie. Or simply just sign up all the actors for the characters before Marvel can. It will be very interesting to know which graphic novel they are adapting to the movie (or using for their inspiration). We would definitely want to see one of the New 52 stories being adapted for the big screen. The possible villains that could be included in this movie are endless (if you keep throwing in some many heroes). Nonetheless, as long as there is good cast to support the same once it has been finalised.

Who will play the Flash?

Since the studio had recently confirmed that the TV show Arrow will not be connecting to the movie, assuming they are two separate universes. But which Flash will they bring to the big screen: Barry Allen or Wally West. Here is our list of actors that we would like to see taking the mantle of playing Flash:

Robert Pattinson – If you consider his acting in movies that are not part the Twilight saga, you can actually consider him as a actor with more than just one pale expression. Though not a favourite for the role, one would expect the studio to consider him in the big budget movies – he has a guaranteed fan following that will rake the monies for the studio

Chris PineHe did wonders for the Star Trek reboot. He would be an excellent choice for the Barry Allen version. Like Bradley Cooper, he was in the running for the Hal Jordan role before Reynolds was finalized.

Jensen Ackles – He was the second choice for the role of Clark Kent in Smallville. Thankfully he didn’t get it. He doesn’t quite fit the bill on that one. However, as Barry Allen – that could quite possibly work.

Ryan Reynolds – Yes, he was the Green Lantern. Though the movie was a failure, many expected a sequel that will simply out do the first. Since there has been no progress on that, he should definitely be considered for the role.  With his wisecrack humour, he can be the perfect Wally West. No questions about it.

Though, my favourite would be:

Matt Bomer – He did try for the role of Clark Kent in the Man of Steel. A very talented actor and would be equally successful at both characters: Barry Allen as well Wally West. Would be very surprised if there aren’t any talks with him.
