Ant-Man will be both Hank Pym & Scott Lang, as per the recent announcement from Edgar Wright. So that throws our theory out the window on the Age of Ultron tie in. What I liked about the new story by Wright is how he will be keeping all the Ant-Man fans happy with both the characters. This will definitely make the story a lot more appealing and to add to it, we have a heavy hitter playing Hank Pym. Yes, it has been confirmed – Michael Douglas will be playing the original Ant-Man. The movie will begin (or in some sort of flashback way) with Hank Pym in the suit from the 60s and then show us the Scott Lang origins (possibly stealing Pym’s suit). Marvel is definitely bringing all the big guns to this story arc. First Robert Redford in the Captain America sequel and now Michael Douglas, Marvel Studios is definitely making the waves in the industry and giving Warner Bros. a run for their money. Somehow I don’t see the DC movies (the Man of Steel story arc that most likely will be a JLA story arc) measuring up anywhere close to Marvel’s Avengers franchise.

Douglas has been equally excited about the same, he told Reuters
“I’ve been dying to do a Marvel picture for so long. The script is really fun, the director is really good. [My son] Dylan will love it. He’ll have a picture he can see.”
With Douglas’ charm and acting skills, he might just be the appropriate choice for the character Hank Pym. Possible story line: Hank Pym, as the retired Superhero (who probably washed it all away by a few bad choices, is now guiding Scott Lang to not make the same mistakes and showing him the ropes.
This has definitely been a positive update for the movie and am really excited to see how this plays out.
