The 10 Must Have PS3 Games of 2013

Well, the year end is upon us..almost…it’s time for us to look back at a great year gone by from a PS3 perspective and look through some of the fantastic games that have graced us.

Just a note on how we came up with this list. We’re not focusing on PlayStation Exclusives, but games that may have released across all platforms as well. Another way to look at this is, if you own a PlayStation 3, what are the best games you’d choose from this year. Now, on to our list!!

#10. DmC: Devil May Cry

DmC was rebooted this year, and what a welcome change it was!

The franchise was re-invented this year which pushed it’s DNA of being a bad-ass hack and slash no holds barred, gun slinging, demon slaying game to new heights. Dante was re-imagined as a younger lad with black hair, and someone with no respect for authority. The gameplay is still great as ever, and really sticks to its roots with some great changes.

#9. Diablo III

Diablo III on the console marked a new way to experience Action RPGs
Rumors were wild and large, very much like the hordes you face in Diablo III, when the game released for the PC. No one expected too much, but when it released, it shook the very foundations of how hack and slash action RPGs ought to be handled on consoles. By far this is THE definitive version of Diablo III.

#8. FIFA 14

EA delivers another stunning Soccer game with FIFA 14. A must have!
I don’t need to necessarily get into this. FIFA 14, by far the best FIFA game to date – but we say this every year. It just goes to show, why this game MUST be on your collection even if you’ve never played the game before. With FIFA 13 really pushing hard on the online multiplayer front, the same is set in gold with FIFA 14. It’s a must have for any FIFA fan.

#6.  Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness

Disgaea returns for some more stunning action! Ensure you have this for the PS3

For us, this was certainly one of the best games this year, especially considering the 10 year old franchise. To add to it, the original trio that starred in the very first game are back for with a completely new and original storyline, while still offering the same kind of hardcore, over-the-top, endless gameplay that has captured fans since the very first Disgaea! In addition there are tons of game system refinements that will entice new fans and make this a MUST have on your PlayStation 3.

#5. Tomb Raider

The BEST Tomb Raider Game to date. Play it already if you haven’t!

As far as re-boots go, this is certainly one of the better ones. Tomb Raider delivers an intense and gritty story of the origins of Lara Croft and her ascent from frightened young woman to hardened survivor, armed with only raw instincts and the physical ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance. Superb physics-based gameplay is paired with a heart-pounding narrative in Lara’s most personal, character-defining adventure to date.

#4.  Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Sam Fisher is back in what can only be described as ‘The most exhilarating Splinter Cell Experience!’
Some games never go out of style, and Splinter Cell is certainly one of them. The list already seems top Action Games heavy, but we wanted to ensure Blacklist is not missed not. Everything from graphics, game-play, to the story line has been brilliantly done and it shows. As If you had to pick between Splinter Cell & Tomb Raider – I’d go with Splinter Cell.

#3. BioShock Infinite

Take to the skies with BioShock Infinite – easily one the best games of the year across ANY platform
BioShock Infinite takes to the skies in a thrilling adventure that’s full of espionage, deranged citizens, and a very very beautiful Elizabeth. Breaking away from the first 2 games of being underwater, BioShock Infinite, has taken the franchise to new heights (no pun intended); excellent visuals and gameplay mechanics aside, it’s the story of BioShock Infinite that will have you falling in love with the franchise all over again. Do not miss this game!
