Cross-Play May Open up for Titanfall 2 – PC, Xbox One and PS4

Is this the end of platform segregation?

Hardly, one would think, but it’s a strong step in the right direction. The developer of Titanfall 2 has indicated that it would consider enabling PC, Xbox One and PS4 Cross-Play in the future. According to the interviews conducted by Shacknews there seems to be a possibility of it happening.

Steve Fukoda is quoted as saying that Respawn Entertainment isn’t

“planning on doing that at launch. For now, the answer is no, but we aren’t closed to the possibility.”

Paragon, Epic’s third person MOBA, already creates even matches between players on PS4 and PC, and we’ve seen that this system works quite well.

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding Cross-Play recently. Microsoft went as far as to send an open invitation to Sony to enable the feature between the Xbox One and PS4, but the conversation between the two has since gone cold.

Developers are generally in support of the feature, and with the first hints of conversation now taking place between hardware manufacturers, it seems only a matter of time before inter-platform play becomes a reality.
