With Dexter’s tragic demise (or something like that), you’d wonder what Showtime has been looking at. The answer is the new show for 2013: Ray Donovan.

Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) is a rich man’s fixer. He will walk in, do what needs to be done & walk out. In a way, remotely reminding us of the famous Mr. Wolf. Ray can do anything but deal with his father – Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight). Mickey is recently out of prison, their relationship is not the best (that’s saying it very lightly). We’ve never seen Schreiber or Voight in such powerful lead roles. With the end of good drama on TV (Breaking Bad, Dexter – well Dexter probably died a few years earlier), this is the light at the end of the tunnel. Something new, something fresh. Hope it stays that way.
