It looks like it’s an era of reboots – the latest one to join the fray is ‘Predator’. Shane Black and Fred Dekker have signed on with 20th Century Fox to reboot the franchise. Black will direct and oversee writing of a script by Dekker. Original Predator producers John Davis, Joel Silver and Lawrence Gordon will return as producers for the reboot.
No release date has been set for this, but it’s probably too early to tell anyway. Having said that, the last Predator franchise was back in 2010, titled ‘Predators’. After the first release of the movie back in 1987, a sequel starring Danny Glover was released in 1990, and post that 2 movies have been released but crossed over with the ‘Aliens’ franchise. Although the 2010 series was originally intended as a re-launch, it didn’t necessarily do much for the franchise in itself.
