According to Deadline, CBS has officially announced the spin off to How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) which is currently in its final season, due to end in May 2014. The story will be said from the Mother’s (Cristin Milioti) perspective. It has been confirmed that the new show’s cast will not be introduced in HIMYM. The fans can expect the old characters to make surprise guest appearances & cameos in the new show.
However, it’s too early to tell but what will this new show have to offer? Not to be pessimistic but this is what we know so far:
– There is no mystery on who the “Dad” is
– We know how they met
– The show will have limited growth, since the end is predefined
The positive: the show will have the creators of the original show: Carter Bays & Craig Thomas. Also joining them is the Emily Spivey (creator of Up All Night).
So far the pilot has been ordered, will it extend for a complete season? Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the next year…
