Batman vs. Superman

Batman-Superman movie release date has been moved by nearly nine months. The initial date of release for the movie was 15 July 2015, this has now been amended to 06 May 2016. Yes, that’s quite a wait for the much discussed sequel to the Superman reboot movie: Man of Steel. While the reason for this change has not been fully explained – they just need more time to get it right? Are they revisiting the entire story & script? Will they change this to actually a Justice League movie? Or could it simply be that they want a May release and since 2015 is pretty much booked by Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, it’s easier to go a year later. But 2016 also has a few Marvel releases, speculations vary from more sequels on Captain America & Thor to new solo movies for Black Panther & Dr. Strange. Did you know since 2006, every May there has been a Marvel-based movie release? So, are they looking for a showdown? Bold, very bold. Well whatever it is, I just don’t want it to be something as lame as trying to match schedules of any other actors they trying to bring on board. The most bizarre excuse (nightmare actually) would be having Justin Bieber join the cast to take the role Robin (Damian Wayne, obviously). Ha ha. I’m only kidding – that will pretty much be the end of all DC vs. Marvel debates EVER. So while there are more suspicions (read as jokes), we can only hope that it does not get further delayed.

All is not lost with the change of date, the movie Pan has taken its place for the 2015 release. While there aren’t too many details on the same, what we know is that Hugh Jackman is rumored to play the role of Blackbeard in this Peter Pan origin story that will be directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice), with the screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift). This should be interesting, hopefully not a musical.
